New Edition + Nu:tone from the studio

We are celebrating light at the end of the lockdown tunnel by sharing the launch of both a new print published with Nigel Hall RA and sounds from music producer Nu:tone.

Summer Storm
£250.00

The Print Studio has made many prints with the Royal Academician sculptor Nigel Hall. As the third lockdown arrived, the suggestion was made to produce this small and affordable print. Summer Storm is an energetic and compact work to brighten even the smallest spaces on walls and shelves and help lift the spirits of those home schooling or working from home.

We hope it acts as a reminder of the enduring importance of invention and creativity.

Back in November, we shared ‘Sweeter / Do It Right’, the single by music producer Nu:Tone. The geometric, multi-layered drawings by Willard Boepple provided the visuals for the single, including both the official artwork and video.

Friday 26th February 2021 marks the launch of ‘Little Spaces’, the new album which continues the collaboration with Boepple. To celebrate the launch, Nu:tone is engaging in a Virtual Tour this week. Playing four special sets in four very special ‘little spaces’, one of which includes The Print Studio. In partnership with an organisation in LA, UK listeners can tune in for the stream at 6AM 25th February (GMT) on Twitch or the Insomniac Livestream.

Alongside Willard’s large-scale abstract sculptures, printmaking and two-dimensional works have become a significant element of the artist’s practice. The experimental layering and colourways explored with Kip at the studio have been clear elements explored again here within Nu:tone’s album artwork. Illusions and a sense of playful energy are a compliment to the electronic music.
