What is an original limited edition print?

An original limited edition print is a work that has been conceived by the artist purely as a print. It is not a direct reproduction of an existing painting or drawing. Edition sizes can be anything from two upwards but a smaller edition is preferable. Every print in the edition is the same but as is customary in the selling of limited edition prints, prices can rise as the edition sells. A monoprint is unique print – only one exists.
